Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic Intake Specialist to join our growing team. The Intake Specialist will be the first point of contact for potential clients seeking assistance with their Social Security Disability claims. This crucial role involves conducting initial consultations, gathering essential information, and providing compassionate guidance to individuals often facing challenging circumstances. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong ability to build rapport, and a genuine desire to help others.
Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming calls and respond to online inquiries from prospective clients.
- Conduct thorough initial consultations to determine eligibility for Social Security Disability benefits.
- Gather detailed information regarding medical conditions, work history, and daily living limitations.
- Explain the SSD application process clearly and concisely, managing client expectations.
- Input and maintain accurate client data in our case management system.
- Schedule appointments for clients with attorneys or senior paralegals.
- Provide empathetic support and reassurance to potential clients.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all client information.
- Collaborate effectively with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff.
- Assist with other administrative tasks as needed to support the intake process.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in an intake, customer service, or client-facing role, preferably within a legal or healthcare setting.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong active listening and empathetic abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and DropBox.
- Experience with case management software is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Bilingual (Spanish) highly desirable.
