Job Title: Land Acquisition Underwriter
Location: Remote / Flexible
Job Type: Full-Time
About Us:
We’re a fast-growing, entrepreneurial land investing company with a passion for uncovering hidden value and creating opportunity through land. As we continue to scale, we’re looking for a proactive, analytical, and resourceful individual to join our team as a Land Acquisition Underwriter. You’ll play a pivotal role in identifying, evaluating, and negotiating land deals that align with our growth strategy.
About the Role:
As a Land Acquisition Underwriter, you will be on the front lines of our acquisition process—engaging directly with potential sellers, assessing property value and viability, and helping determine the best offer strategy. This role requires someone who can move quickly, think critically, and take full ownership of their deals from first contact to decision-making.
Responsibilities:
– Make immediate contact with property owners and build rapport
– Evaluate land parcels using online tools and specialized platforms, market research, and internal guidelines
– Assess property value, access, zoning, flood zones, and comparable sales
– Maximize the potential return of each investment by identifying the best usage of each property (flipping, subdivision project, etc)
– Recommend offers and deal structures based on underwriting criteria
– Communicate findings and recommendations to the acquisition manager
– Work directly on our CRM systems and platforms, maintaining and updating them with seller interactions and deal statuses
– Continuously improve, evolve and refine the evaluation processes

– Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
– Analytical mindset with attention to detail
– Ability to manage multiple leads and timelines simultaneously
– Comfortable working in an ever changing, growing, fast-paced environment
– Curious and eager to constantly learn and improve
– Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software quickly
Preferred Qualifications:
– Experience with real estate valuation, underwriting, or acquisitions. Land experience is a plus.
– Familiarity with GIS tools, property records, and county databases
– Prior sales, customer service, or negotiation experience
