Overview

We are seeking a full-time Government Contracts Finance Coordinator to join our growing finance team. This position works with the Finance Director to ensure timely processing of accounts receivable for federal, state, and local grants, including but not limited to preparing and submitting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and vouchers.

The ideal candidate has experience in completing reporting work for Federal and Illinois State grants, is able to read and understand contract requirements, and is highly organized and deadline-driven. This position is for you if you enjoy working with financial details and budgets, can work independently to complete repetitive tasks while still valuing internal and external working relationships, and strive for accuracy while following and understanding the unique rules of individual grants.

Job Details

  • Works with the other members of the finance team to ensure that all receipts are properly documented and allocated in QuickBooks.
  • Ensures federal, state, and local government funding is expended for the stated purposes and in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Prepares financial reports and voucher requests for submission to federal, state, and local government agencies.
  • Tracks grant receivables and follows up with government agencies regarding pending payment requests.
  • Monitors budgets to ensure compliance with grant requirements.
  • Understands and ensures accurate implementation of individual grant reporting requirements.
  • Communicates with granters and internal team members as needed to effectively complete job responsibilities and understand grant details.
  • Balances work to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in grant financial reporting strongly preferred.
  • Computer skills: scanning, retrieving, and uploading scanned files.
  • Math beyond basic computation. Ability to work with Algebra-based Excel formulas.
  • Excel, including a basic knowledge of formulas.
  • Basic knowledge of QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
  • Adobe, including converting images to PDF, editing PDF, and digital signing.
  • Detail-oriented. Ability to check calculations with low incidence of error.
  • Organized. Keep detailed procedural notes and repeat cyclical processes independently.
  • Ability to manage and meet deadlines.
  • Confidential and discreet. Ability to sign and abide by a Non-Disclosure Agreement concerning all company and personal financial information encountered
  • Full-time position
  • Remote position with the option to work out of the Springfield or Normal offices if the candidate prefers a hybrid schedule
