Case Manager – Family & Estate Planning Law Firm

Are you ready to take on a key leadership role in a growing family and estate planning law firm?

We’re seeking an experienced Case Manager to oversee and streamline our case management processes, working closely with the owner to ensure seamless operation of our legal team.

This role is perfect for a self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with significant experience in case management and paralegal work.

The case manager’s primary goal is to support our attorneys by managing cases and caseloads. A Case Manager assigns tasks to Attorney’s and Paralegals, ensuring
calendar deadlines and case milestones are added to the Firm’s Master Calendar and specific case management spreadsheets to ensure no missed deadlines
and cases move forward. A Case Manager provides quality legal services to our clients at a lower billable rate than an Attorney, and by doing so, benefits both the
Firm and our clients. Case Managers must meet the minimum billable requirements set by the Firm and report on progress toward achieving assigned
goals.

A highly organized and effective communicator with a love for systems and processes.
Someone confident and positive who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
An experienced legal professional who can manage cases independently, lead a team, and keep everything on track without micromanagement.
A candidate with extensive family law paralegal experience (this is non-negotiable).

Key Responsibilities:

Review legal documents to ensure compliance with all legal requirements.
Support attorneys in all aspects of case management, including billing, tracking deadlines, and scheduling reminders.
Prepare legal documents for attorney review and coordinate with staff, clients, and outside vendors to manage caseloads.
Ensure deadlines are met, and cases progress through the pipeline efficiently.
Maintain organized case files (both electronic and physical) that are in line with firm policies.
Manage court preparation, ensuring attorneys have everything they need well in advance.
Take initiative to resolve minor case-related issues independently.
Oversee weekly Case Status meetings and provide updates on case progress.
Handle document collection, organization, and assembly for court or transaction filings.

Administrative & HR Management:

Develop and enforce standard operating procedures for the legal team.
Manage the workflow and workload of support staff.
Conduct interviews and assist in hiring support team members.

Act as a liaison between the owner and the broader firm team 

Salary: 65,000-75,000 per year

Office Hours : 8am -6pm Eastern Standard Time

Qualifications

5-10 years experience in this role or similar role; Software MyCase or other Legal Case management software, Google Suite; experience working with multiple attorneys at one time
