Overview

We are seeking a part-time Intellectual Property Docketing Clerk who is able to dedicate ten (10) hours a week, two (2) hours a day to assist our IP Practice with docketing all U.S. and foreign patent and trademark matters in Foundation IP Docketing Database. This will include handling new matter intake, entering status updates, assist with deadline reminders and due date calendar maintenance, input client information, update client files and assist with audits. The incumbent will prepare client reporting letters, and interact with the firm’s attorneys and paralegals on client-specific issues.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree, Paralegal Certificate and/or Equivalent Experience Preferred Minimum of four years related clerical work experience; IP Law Firm experience preferred. Strong knowledge of USPTO Rules. Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills. Must have knowledge of and the ability to understand Patent and Trademark Office Rules, the patent and trademark prosecution process, and the maintenance of patents and trademarks. Must possess excellent organizational skills, be a self-starter, have a strong sense of attention to detail, excellent follow-up skills, the ability to balance multiple projects under tight deadlines even when there are competing requirements and changes in assignments. Strong computer skills necessary with experience in Foundation IP or other docketing system, USPTO databases and website, Word, Outlook, Access, and IPDAS Ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Ability to maintain cooperative, diplomatic working relationships with co-workers, attorneys, and supervisors; working as part of a team and collaboratively with colleagues.
