Overview

We help eliminate the pain of working with data for our customers.  Our focus is helping organizations using ERP (Enterprise resource planning) or PMS (print management software) solutions manage their data and get better insights out of the data.  We are a small but growing organization ready to bring in their first dedicated sales representative.  Initially, this will be a part time role, but the right person can grow this into a full-time role.

We have grown our customer base through relationships.  The goal of this position is to continue that tradition and own the details of connecting with our current customers and vendors, past customers, and potential customers.  While there is reach out to cold prospects from time to time (IE event list), most interactions will be with people who already know about our brand.  We are in the process of updating our marketing material and hope to arm this position with plenty of tools to be successful.  You will start with contact the owner already has–you will not be starting from scratch!

There is no selling ice to Eskimos here.  Our approach is to stay top of mind, provide as much value as possible and when the customer is ready, provide great service.

Like most small companies, there will be varied roles and responsibilities.  Larger organizations might have separate positions for some of these responsibilities, so the right person will feel comfortable handling a variety of different tasks.
Position Responsibilities:
Develops sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts, soliciting new accounts, building rapport with current customers and vendors, providing technical information and explanations to customers, and preparing quotations.

Develops accounts by checking customer’s buying history, suggesting related and new items, and explaining technical features.

Qualifies leads from digital campaigns, conferences, references, etc.

Keeps record of activity in CRM system and works leads and customers through the sales process.

Studies new product opportunities and participates in technical educational opportunities.

Explores opportunities to add value to the sales process.

Solicits feedback from customers for recommendation/marketing material.

Coordinates with the marketing team in the creating of new material.  Reviews email campaign effectiveness.

Spends time thinking of the needs of the customer and crafts value-added messages when communicating with a prospective customer.

Participates in webinars or online events to build relationships with attendees.

Keeps up to date with vendor partners and strengthens those relationships

Position Metrics

The candidate is expected to reach out and connect with others.  Increasing sales is the goal; however, a great process will lead to great results.  5-7 contacts per day is one metric we will use.  The candidate will have input on all the other metrics used in this position.  They may vary from week to week or month to month.

Work Hours & Benefits

The schedule is flexible, and meetings are generally scheduled multiple days in advance. Evening work is possible; however, the candidate should have availability from 9 AM-5 PM EST.  We have a generous PTO policy.  This position includes a commission.
