Overview

Local Coordinator Responsibilities:

Develop local connections/network in the community, whereby to recruit host families
Screen and interview potential host families
Conduct student and family orientations via the use of Power Point/script
Must provide ongoing feedback and guidance to students and host families and communicate regularly with ETC management and support team
Monitor student progress monthly during a student activity or personal visit
Meet with host family every other month face to face
Complete and submit monthly reports

What do I need in order to be a successful Local Coordinator?

Computer and internet access
Outgoing personality and ability to recruit host families
Must have access to transportation/vehicle
Ability to host a student short term in the case of an emergency

About ETC: Education Travel & Culture (ETC) is a non-profit [501(c)(3)] educational exchange organization. ETC provides inbound program opportunities for high school students throughout the world to study in an American high school and live with an American family. Volunteer Host Families provide room and board, a quiet place to study, and an American family experience for international students during their semester or academic year in the United States.

 

ETC Students: Our students are between 15-18 and come to America on a J-1 Visa. They are fluent in English and maintain a C or higher in all of their high school courses, provide their own health insurance and spending money, and are eager to share their culture.

What are the requirements to become a Local Coordinator? ·         Successfully passing a background check ·         A valid Driver’s License and proof of auto insurance ·         The ability to provide 2 viable references
