About the Senior Bookkeeper Position

As a Senior Bookkeeper you play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of our client’s financials and communication within our bookkeeping department. Your responsibilities will encompass ensuring tax compliance of client’s records, managing and training junior bookkeepers, maintaining accurate client records and files, and maintaining SOPs and workflows for the bookkeeping department.

We are looking for a highly organized Senior Bookkeeper that loves the numbers and serving clients behind the scenes. We specialize in providing bookkeeping and financial advisory services to a diverse range of clients. This position plays a crucial role in identifying and rectifying discrepancies, errors, and inconsistencies in financial data, reconciling accounts, and bringing financial records up to date. This role requires a keen attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of accounting principles and software.

Responsibilities of the Senior Bookkeeper

Bookkeeping Tasks:

Ensuring overall compliance and tax regulations

Final Quality Control and trend reporting

Training Jr Bookkeepers

Ensures accuracy of Jr Bookkeepers’ work

Answering questions for Jr Bookkeepers

Preparing and filing Sales & Use tax, quarterly estimates, and Year End 1099 Forms

Recording Advanced Entries in QuickBooks Online

End of Month Review of financials for Account Manager

Finalizing End of Year compliance and reporting

Accurately note and pass on client information once finalized

Reinstate accuracy and compliance in clients books

Financial Data Analysis:

Review and analyze financial records in QuickBooks Online, including bank statements, invoices, receipts, and other financial documents

Identify and rectify discrepancies, inaccuracies, and errors in financial data

Account Reconciliation:

Investigate and resolve variances or discrepancies in account balances

Journal Entries:

Prepare and post adjusting journal entries to correct errors and bring accounts into balance

Ensure proper classification and allocation of expenses, income, and transactions

Day to Day Operations

Collaborate and communicate with bookkeeping department

Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for all bookkeeping work

Create and maintain client files

Streamline bookkeeping processes for the firm
