HR Risk & Employee Relations Manager

We are seeking a part-time HR Risk & Employee Relations Manager to support employee relations, claims management, contract administration, and coordination with outside counsel. This role is ideal for an experienced HR manager or employee relations professional looking for flexible work with meaningful responsibility. This is a hands-on role for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing sensitive matters involving claims, investigations, contracts, and employment-related risk. This is not a traditional recruiting/payroll/benefits HR role.

Schedule
20–30 hours per week. Flexible schedule with some daytime availability for meetings, hearings, and urgent matters
Part-time role reporting directly to the CEO/Owner

Compensation: Starting at $30/hour, commensurate with experience

Key Responsibilities

– Manage unemployment, workers’ compensation, general liability, property damage, auto, cyber, and guest incident claims, including reporting, follow-up, hearings, appeals, and return-to-work coordination.

Requirements

Qualifications
5–7+ years of experience in HR, employee relations, claims management, risk management, contract administration, or a related field.
Experience handling sensitive workplace issues, investigations, unemployment claims, workers’ compensation, or similar risk-related matters.
Strong organizational, written communication, and project management skills with close attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, manage confidential information, and collaborate effectively with senior leadership and operational managers.
Physical Requirements
Frequent standing and walking
Prolonged periods sitting and working on office machinery
Frequent, continual, intermittent flexing and rotation of the spine, elbows and wrists
Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs on an occasional basis
Constant talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken words and in the process of communicating with employees and possibly guests.
Constant use of POS/Computer systems
Preferred Background
Experience in restaurants, hospitality, catering, retail, or other multi-location businesses.
Familiarity with lease administration, contract review, and employment-related documentation.
Experience working with outside counsel, insurance brokers, carriers, or third-party administrators.
