Part 1: About the company

We help tech businesses scale into hyper-growth with our digital marketing speciality. We’re looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic media buyer who is excited to help our clients increase their revenue. We have a range of clients from around the world (USA, UK, Europe) who come from a variety of industries including finance, saas, and ecommerce. You will be responsible for managing budgets anywhere from £3,000 up to £150,000 per month in advertising.

Your work will be assessed objectively with your performance. You must not be afraid of hard work, deadlines, or stress. In the same breath, you should be open to constructive feedback, teamwork, and identifying problems.

Part 2: About you

We are looking for someone who fulfills the description below.

Technical skills

Project management: To begin with you will start on just one account to learn the ropes. Once you’re put through the training program you will take on more responsibility, accounts, and therefore projects. Therefore you need to be efficient with your time to ensure you can manage multiple tasks per week. As you’ll be managing clients budgets you’ll be operating on the front line, therefore being inefficient with your time won’t be easy to hide. These facts aren’t designed to make it sound difficult, however, we want to make sure you’re aware of the roles and responsibilities given to you.

If you don’t think that you have self-discipline, you are encouraged not to apply.

Data Analysis: Being able to understand how different metrics impact each other is paramount to the role. You will be creating the adverts and campaigns therefore the results need to be analysed and optimised. It’s therefore important to be versed in Google Sheets, data studio, and be good with numbers.

Ideally experience in anything related to number is preferred e.g. accountancy, business management, data analytics.

Personal skills

Professional problem solver: 9/10 you will be the first person to notice when a campaign is/isn’t working, therefore you need to be good at making decisions. Your role is to identify, define and analyse the accounts whilst working with the team to create solutions. This is therefore a creative responsibility requiring problem-solving skills so please consider this before applying.

Detail-oriented: As we are working on behalf of other businesses we have to make sure campaigns are in line with their expectations. You need to be careful, pay attention to detail, and able to concentrate even when pressure is on.

Strong mindset: Media buyer is a fast-moving industry, results are generated within days rather than months. Therefore campaigns, ads and performances will at times be volatile. It requires a strong mindset to ensure you see feedback as constructive. In order to better yourself, you need to be open to criticism – this takes a strong mindset.

Independence: To begin with this role will be quite hands-on and Luke the media manager will be working with you to help you get acquainted. However once you’re up and running you won’t have someone over your shoulder 24/7 and will be given freedom to work in your own way.

Dependable: While working independently, can we trust you to hold yourself to high standards of work? If you don’t believe you can produce good work, you are encouraged not to apply.

Team-oriented: How well do you communicate with others? Do you take the initiative, or do you wait for others? If you dislike communicating and working together with others, you are encouraged not to apply.
