Overview
We are on a mission to Empower Learners! We nurture kids’ creativity, help them discover and develop talents and interests, and help them choose a growth mindset. We support student autonomy and focus on the learning process. We have real, honest, empowering conversations every day that support learning, growth, and genuine experiences.
We are looking for exceptional Microschool Guides to be active participants in changing the world of learning. Being a microschool guide is an opportunity to inspire, mentor, and coach.
We use technology to create a balanced, blended learning environment that frees you up to build meaningful relationships with your students as you help them master academic content, learn vital social skills, and tap into their creative powers.
Are you passionate about empowering children, embracing change and striving to make a positive impact? If so, join us!
What a Guide Does:
You’ll create your very own microschool by inviting 5-10 learners from your community to join you to learn using the Prenda Learning Model. You are responsible for promoting a positive learning environment, providing a comfy safe space for kids to learn, recruiting students to attend your school, and help in fulfilling our mission of Empowering Learners. We provide you with the learning model, training, supplies, and support that you’ll need to get started.
Guiding is an in-person, paid, part-time job requiring either 16 hours per week (Kindergarten through 2nd grade) or 20 hours per week (3rd through 8th grade). Pay ranges between $15-$30 per hour, and is dependent on the grade level and number of learners in your microschool. Additional responsibilities include monitoring student growth; assisting students in communicating with parents; facilitating benchmark and state testing; and preparing information for and attending additional meetings as needed (504, IEP, SST, etc).
About
Prenda is a completely new take on school.
Our mission is to Empower Learners. We believe that every human is a natural born learner, explorer, wonderer, and scientist. Our aim is to protect and nurture the natural human desire to learn, progress, and grow. We do that by creating flexible learning environments (microschools) combined with strong academics, caring and inspiring social communities, and project based learning experiences.
We are obsessed with helping kids learn how to learn instead of regurgitating information. In our model, students take responsibility for their own learning, unlock their potential, and see amazing results.
