Get in on the ground level at Marketing by Emma, and spend your days editing projects, refining our creative process, and guiding our writing team through the world of words. As an Editor and Project Manager at our growing international business located in Columbia, MO, you’ll be responsible for leading projects and supporting writers to ensure timely deliveries, stellar precision, and constant learning.

Help cultivate writers’ growth and eyes for detail as part of a team of curious individuals. We work hard to create a culture that fosters creativity, kindness, and the pursuit of knowledge. Let’s grow together!

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Attention to detail.
  • Expert level written and verbal communication skills.
  • When necessary, rewriting and reworking projects to maintain top-notch standards.
  • Always meet deadlines. We’ve never missed a deadline, and we’re very proud of that.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest marketing trends.
  • Serve as a resource for writing best practices.
  • Help writers develop and continue to refine their craft.
  • Assist with training new writers.
  • Identify existing writers’ strengths and weaknesses, and develop and provide additional training when necessary.
  • Assign and manage internal and external delivery dates.
  • Support operations team with client edit requests, questions, and project intake.
  • Provide support to writers by answering questions, brainstorming solutions to creative quandaries, giving a different perspective, and working through obstacles.
  • Look critically at the company’s processes and systems, and provide insight into ways that we can improve what we do.
  • Manage company blog – edit new posts, assign topics, approve outlines.
  • Review and edit miscellaneous company projects – website updates, emails, etc.
  • Determine what makes products appealing to consumers
Hours: 
15-20 hours/week. Flexible schedule.
Employment Type:
Part-time with opportunity to grow into a full time position.
