Bright, self-starter administrative assistant/coordinator needed for rapidly growing specialized medical billing business with a focus on obtaining coverage from insurers for midwifery care/birth. Job has potential to expand into larger role, dependent upon candidate’s ability and execution in the job. Work from home – up to date personal computer, fast internet and secure phone line a must!

Hamilton Billing specializes in helping independent midwives obtain coverage from insurance companies so that pregnant women seeking a natural approach to maternity care and birth have options and coverage (ex: homebirth, birthing center births, natural deliveries without surgery or drugs). We provide highly personal and focused assistance to both patients and midwives to see that insurers cover basic maternity care appropriately, rewarding midwives who provide quality, non-intervention based options for women.

Responsibilities include full administrative support of business owner and operations – mostly ‘intake’, which involves: answering patient inquiries via email about coverage for maternity care; setting up authorizations with insurance companies for midwifery coverage; following overall task list and organizing patient information related to intake and payments.

To be successful in this role, you must have strong administrative, grammatical/written communication skills, be highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines on your own. Ultimately, you will provide administrative support to the company owner and ensure daily tasks are completed with no loose ends.

1) Ability/hands on experience using systems online such as google drive, google docs (navigating online databases) 2) Excellent verbal and written communication skills 3) Strong grammar skills 4) Solid time-management abilities to prioritize tasks 5) Basic problem solving/critical thinking skills 6) Prior administrative work experience a plus
