Overview
An accounting and tax firm based in Garden City, Long Island NY, is in search of a new CPA or EA, or senior accountant to add to our team. We are looking for a professional that can manage a book of business and is able to communicate with our growing client base. This candidate should enjoy working with a team and should be looking to build a career in accounting and tax. The new member should be intelligent and eager to learn.
Responsibilities include
- Work with software including MS Office, QuickBooks, and Lacerte tax preparation and filing software, Smart Vault, and Monday.com task management system
- Preparing tax returns from books and records and client provided documentation
- Communicating with clients in a professional manner via phone, email, and zoom
- Work independently as well as part of a team
- Special projects

Qualifications
- 2 + years preparing tax returns - Experience using QuickBooks online (coding, bank recs and reporting) - Punctual attendance and ability to work a flexible schedule; put in additional time during busy season (Feb – April, Sept – Oct) - Effective verbal and written communication with both clients and staff - Desire to learn new things - Problem solving skills - CPA license or EA (enrolled agent) certification preferred
