Overview

Ginkgo Public Relations is seeking one part-time podcast outreach specialist to add to our agency that will manage between 2-3 client accounts starting as soon as July 2021. This equates to 12-15 hours per week.

This position is a perfect fit for a research-savvy self-starter with a knack for identifying what will appeal to podcast hosts and producers. We are an agency that leads with values in diversity, equity and inclusion, and we work primarily with underrepresented populations including BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, disabled, and neurodiverse individuals.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Supporting a client load of 2-3 clients, which roughly translates to sourcing new shows to pitch, sending 20 pitches per month for each client, following up with previous pitches, and providing strategic weekly and monthly insights
  • Developing a deep understanding of your clients and the industries in which they operate
  • Creating and maintaining relationships with media makers and their teams
  • Working closely with the director, Cher Hale, to identify angles that will appeal to podcast hosts across a variety of niches

WHY WE’LL LOVE WORKING WITH YOU

  • You have experience: You have at least 1 year experience working in media relations successfully assisting with pitches or sending pitches on behalf of clients. This can include working for a previous podcast booking agency.
  • You’re detail-oriented: Typos keep you up at night, off-kilter formatting makes you shudder, and you never hit send without proofreading what you’ve written for clarity. In fact, you found a couple of typos in this job description that you’re desperate to tell me about.
  • You pride yourself on having excellent communication skills: You’re not afraid to respectfully speak up when you disagree, and you routinely request feedback.
  • You stick to deadlines: You deliver your work on time and your project management skills have consistently impressed past colleagues and bosses.
  • You’re culturally informed: You’re always up to date on the latest trends, have a pulse on niche news within the wellness and lifestyle spaces, and know exactly when Instagram is rolling out new features.

A NOTE FOR APPLYING
We recognize that applicants from underrepresented populations often feel unqualified, but we encourage you to apply if you are an enthusiastic candidate.

COMPENSATION RANGE
$20-$30 an hour, commensurate with experience

We offer this role as a part-time employee, and you will be expected to virtually attend one standing meeting per week.

WHY YOU’LL LOVE WORKING WITH US

  • We’re flexible: As a growing team, we’re creating our company culture from the ground up. As a member of that team, you’ll have the ability to suggest and weigh in on new company policies, explore new industry verticals, and help us make decisions about how we give back to our community.
  • Location Independence: You can work from home, and your hours are flexible.
  • Paid time off: You are eligible for sick time and PTO.

THANK YOU!

We are an inclusive company dedicated to walking our talk. About

We’re a PR agency that believes in using our skill set as a mechanism to drive social change. Instead of contributing to the headlines regaling us with Richard Branson's ultimate entrepreneur morning routine, we prefer to place stories centered around diverse women — how the Korean-American entrepreneur infuses culture into her jewelry, how the black lawyer tends to her mental health, or how the LGBTQIA+ author uses her platform to lift other marginalized communities up.

We’re more than just publicists who send galley letters and mass messages. We’re all about creating warm, personalized, and genuine connections. In fact, a host of a top-rated podcast in the self-help vertical, says that we produce “the gold standard for pitches.”

Our clients are authors, entrepreneurs, and brands in the wellness and lifestyle spaces such as a DEI consultant, a functional medicine nurse practitioner, and a clinical nutritionist that believes in dismantling diet culture.

Some of the books we’ve helped bring to market include Bare by Susan Hyatt, By Hand by Nicole Miyuki Santo, The Beauty of Conflict for Couples by CrisMarie Campbell and Susan Clarke, and How to Be an Inclusive Leader by Jennifer Brown.
