Part-time position: Private Food Tour Coordinator

We are an award-winning food tour company that offers intimate culinary walking tours in San Francisco, Berkeley, and Oakland for private and public groups.  The small business startup has been honored by the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce as a 2013 Small Business of the Year. We are looking for a creative, persistent, organized, detail-oriented, and personable professional to join the team to design and manage our customized tours for a clientele with high expectations for both a unique event experience and outstanding customer service.

The Private Tour Coordinator performs a wide variety of marketing, sales, and administrative duties, including developing, selling, and managing tour itineraries carefully curated for our private client groups.  The Private Tour Coordinator works closely with the Owner, Operations Coordinator, custom tour prospects, tour guests, 100+ Edible Excursions vendor partners, and more than a dozen tour guides to manage the logistics for around 15 to 20 custom food tour events a month.  This role requires excellent logistics planning and follow-up and communication skills with these six channels. The Custom Tour Coordinator is responsible for generating new custom tour concepts, as well as planning private excursions, and following up on all custom tours. This role entails internal sales and proposal writing for new business. There are many perks to this position, chief among them: The opportunity to sample a lot of good food with the boss.  Applicants who live in the Bay Area, where Edible Excursions’ tours take place, will be considered for the position.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Flexible work schedule:  20 hours/wk, spread over 7 days/wk.  This is not a 9 to 5 job.
Excellent organizational skills, with a strong attention to details.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
Self-directed, highly-motivated, and responsible.
Experienced multi-tasker who works well independently and on a deadline .
Proficiency with Google Calendar & Microsoft Office, general tech and social media (IG, FB etc.) savvy.
Top-notch customer service skills; experience in hospitality a plus.
Gracious and supportive; concerned with the interest of others.
Ethical, confident, creative; positive attitude is a must.
Initiative taker who makes things happen with minimal supervision.
Thrives in fast-paced, dynamic work environment with many variables.
Excellent time management skills.

Required Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of event planning experience.
Minimum of 5 years living in SF, Oakland or Berkeley.
