By working with Cornell Copywriting, you’ll get high-level training from an industry expert that will elevate your editing skills above the competition.

You’ll get hands-on experience editing and reviewing content for real-world companies. You’ll master the nuances of readability, reader heat maps, the psychology of content creation and publishing. You’ll learn the finer details of SEO and how to make content a powerful marketing tool.

As our Copyeditor & QA Expert, you’ll have the opportunity to work work with an amazing team of writers and step into a long-term relationship with professionals who share your values.

Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Copyeditor & QA Expert include:

  • Reviewing 4-8 blog posts per week of 600-800 words
  • Improving the readability, flow, and organization of each piece
  • Catching serious and minor grammatical or punctuation errors
  • Maximizing the SEO and readability scores of each blog post (you’ll be trained on this in-house)
  • Proofreading and editing blog posts and metadata
  • Adhering to our company style guide
  • Implementing style preferences unique to each client
  • Adding images and alt tags to blog posts
  • Adding hyperlinks to appropriate text within blog posts
  • Logging any additional ideas for blog posts or backlinks that come up while reviewing each piece

Compensation

This is an independent contractor (1099) position. In your application, please include your requested rate for a copyediting and QAing a 600-800 word blog post. A flat per-post rate is preferred; however, we will consider hourly rates on a trial basis.

Compensation will be commensurate with skill. In most cases, we will do our best to accommodate your requested rate.
