Overview

Project Overview:  We are a USA based website design company with 20+ years in the business, primarily working in the Equine and Agriculture industries.

Seeking creative, detail-oriented, well organized, and above all dependable website designer/developer who will work closely with our project manager to build dynamic, eye-catching, easy to navigate, responsive website designs for our growing customer base.

We will be interviewing immediately as we have several projects currently in the pipeline that would be ideal as a test to ensure that we are a good fit and work well together.  The bottom line is we are not looking for a “one and done” situation.  There will be opportunities for further work.

Project Description:
The initial project will consist of designing and building a website consisting of a home page design and one subsequent content page design.  Mockups can be done in Photoshop and converted into HTML or can be done straight into HTML.  We are looking for simple, straightforward coding in regards to HTML and CSS.  Do not overdesign!  Keep the coding simple, but make the design look good!  Includes (SSI or .html/.asp) are required for header, footer, navigation, contact information and other repeatable items.  We can show you examples if you are unfamiliar with using these.

Please – NO WordPress.

We will insert our in-house CMS into the web site HTML using Classic ASP.

Future projects will consist of designing and building a home page, includes (menu, footer, etc) and one content page.

Qualifications/Responsibilities:
– A strong artistic eye and the ability to translate that vision into HTML.
–  Can design and build responsive websites in many styles from clean and modern to fancier “magazine ad” style websites.
– Proficiency in Photoshop preferred.
– Ability to write clean, simple HTML, and simple CSS (non-minified) for eye-catching responsive websites without source code clutter!
– Familiar with responsive frameworks such as bootstrap or equivalent.
– Familiar with JavaScript, and jQuery and have the ability to create and/or modify where needed.
– Incorporate includes (SSI or html/.asp) for repetitive items such as menus, headers, footers, contact information, rotating ads, and slideshows, etc…
– Ability to create a master HTML or ASP template that can be easily duplicated for additional pages, with the ability to quickly and easily add or remove includes as indicated, that smoothly integrates with our own CMS.
– Will work directly with the project manager through all phases of design and development.  There will not be any direct contact with the customer.
– Willingness to sign an NDA.

Personal Traits:
– Great attention to detail.
– Dedication to completing tasks on schedule.
– The ability to communicate clearly via email and phone (if needed).
– Can accept constructive criticism and guidance and make adjustments as needed.
– Respond to emails quickly (within 12 hours) and be available for scheduled phone calls as necessary.
– Equine/agriculture industry knowledge and/or experience a plus.

Skills:
– Must have designed and built Responsive websites without using templates or WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, etc…
– Photoshop
– VBScript/Classic ASP helpful, but not required.

Logistics:
– Overall timeline for each project completion: 1-2 weeks per phase (design & development) = 2-4 weeks total.
– Compensation – PLEASE NOTE:  The pay range per project on this listing does not allow a custom amount.  The compensation is a flat rate of $300 immediately upon delivery of approved code for the two pages and associated files.  Remember we are looking for someone to integrate into our contractor team so there will be plenty of recurring work and multiple projects at once.
