Overview

My social media assistant is retiring, and I need to find a replacement.

About Me:

I’m a clinical psychologist and author of a bunch of traditionally published books plus a blog on Psychology Today with over 4 million views. I’ve appeared on a lot of major broadcast and print media (e.g., guest expert several times on Live with Kelly and Ryan and Good Day Philadelphia, quoted multiple times in New York Times and Washington Post, advisory board for Parents magazine). I also do a fair bit of speaking.

About the Job:

My current social media assistant spends 3-4 hours/week:

  1. Creating attractive posts about my books, blog posts, and media appearances,
  2. Sharing appropriate content by other people, engaging with them as needed (or bumping it to me if it’s important).

That’s the minimum I need. I’m open to additional suggestions.

About YOU?

I’m hoping to find someone who:

  • Is genuinely interested in my writing topics (parenting & children’s feelings and friendships) and would want to stick with the job for a long time.
  • Has a strong aesthetic sense and/or graphic design experience and can create attractive posts.
  • Will create posts and shares or retweets that fit with my brand: positive, practical, compassionate, and research-based. (I’d never, ever, ever write something along the lines of “5 Ways You’re Damaging Your Child Forever!”)
  • Is knowledgeable about the different social media platforms and “what works” on each.
  • Is a creative and strategic thinker. (There are unlimited things I could do on social media. Where do you think will I get the biggest bang for my buck?)
  • Can provide monthly data/analytics (perhaps through zoho.com?) showing consistency and growth over time.
  • Understands my business. (My primary work/income comes from being a psychotherapist, but I’m overbooked and not looking for more clients. Helping to sell my books and get eyes on my blog posts are my social media priorities. Speaking engagements are good, but I don’t want to do large numbers of these. Media attention is fun and potentially useful for selling books. I also view it as an important public service to offer useful information for parents and kids.)
  • Makes my life easier!!!!

If you’d be interested in helping me with social media (and perhaps, but not necessarily, other things?), please take a quick look at my websites and current social media and tell me about what you can offer and your relevant experience. Note: I am not looking for someone to write blog posts for me.
