Dear Hiring Manager,
I would like to express my interest in the position you have listed on HireMyMom. I believe I am a strong candidate for this position since I have the experience, and passion for this industry.
My last few positions have been in the administrative field in big companies such as Microsoft and Starbucks Coffee Company where I was an Administrative Assistant for the Vice President of Global Creative. I arranged his flights, hotels, and car rentals for his business and personal trips. I also screened all his calls and took all his messages. I practiced discretion, especially about his schedule, so I am very well-versed on how to answer phones, roll calls and being confidential. Another one of my job duties was to manage his calendar and book many meetings. There were a lot of meetings where I came in very early in the morning, to prepare a conference room with cameras, laptops, projects, print outs and anything else to make early meetings run smooth. I also completed all expense reports not just for the Vice President but also some of the Directors in my department.
At Microsoft, I worked in immigration where I assisted the attorneys with filling out paperwork and issuing visas to employees. As an Assistant to the Vice President of Creative at Starbucks, I worked closely with our creative team to ensure we were meeting tight deadlines. My day-to-day duties included heavy calendaring, answering the VP’s phone and taking all his messages, checking and answering his emails, sorting through his mail and prioritizing them, and collaborating with his team on getting projects in front of him that needed his direction.
