Writer – Hire My Mom

January 15, 2018

Please accept this cover letter and resume as my application for the position you posted on the HireMyMom.com site – Writer.
As you’ll see from my resume, I have many years of experience in overall marketing, product marketing and communications with my corporate jobs. Although I do still work for a smaller company now and lead marketing efforts, it is not all encompassing of my time and is a work from home position. I am looking for a challenge like you are offering to bring my experience to a subject area that I am passionate about, writing and content marketing. To expand on my experience more specifically, I currently, and in the past, have responsibility for writing blog posts, corporate communications, managing & building social media accounts, copy and content writing for a variety of platforms and other business development skills.

If you have interest in further discussing what you are looking for, I would love the opportunity to talk with you.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you,
Kelly Perrier

I saw your ad for a writer with computer skills on HireMyMom. This sounds like a position that I’d be well fitted for!

My background is in professional copywriting, content strategy, project management, and web design. I’ve worked with large agencies in Orlando for the past 10 years, including Envy Labs (http://madewithenvy.com/), CodeSchool.com, Valet.io, Easily Amused (http://easilyamusedinc.com/), Hooah.cc. I’ve also worked as a ghost writer for Kiss Metrics (https://www.kissmetrics.com/home/).

Working with digital agencies, I spent time on a wide variety of projects. I wrote grant proposals that were successfully won for the City of Cape Coral and the National Guard. I helped found the startup CodeSchool.com, worked on ShopGoodwill.com and ran project management and content strategy with Cisco and CAT Global Selector projects. Most recently, I worked on the complete redesign of OpenView Partners (http://openviewpartners.com/) and OpenView Labs (http://labs.openviewpartners.com/). This included a LOT of content strategy and copywriting. Last year, I created the multi-lingual tool for ConvaTec online (https://www.convatec.com/ostomy/). This is a WordPress sites with extensive copy and content management organization.

I also run my own agency on the side, doing web design and copywriting.

Also, feel free to check out the blog posts on content strategy in my recent writing: http://woostercreative.com/content-strategy-marketing/

Samples of web writing:
http://valet.io/ (I wrote all copy & I ghost write or write for credit blog posts on the valet.io site)
http://easilyamusedinc.com/ (all copy mine)
https://treatingpain.com/ (content strategy & copywriting)

Let me know if we can have a Skype or Google Hangout chat! I have availability currently and would really like to see how I can help you out. I’d love to work on a project where I can have some flexibility with hours. I’m living in Oklahoma right now, and I’m trying to volunteer 1-2 days a week in a community program. I need something remote, and the flexibility of this position sounds wonderful.

I’m an extremely hard worker and great with delivering on deadline with total professionalism. Hope to meet with you soon! 🙂

Warm wishes,
Violette Calhoun

My name is Julie and I am interested in applying for a position with your company. Currently, I am employed as a paralegal at a small law firm in Charleston, SC. I do this work because I’m good at it and it pays the bills. However, what I really love to do is write! I discovered this when I worked for a local non-profit animal rescue in 2015. I wrote the weekly blog, descriptions of adoptable animals for various media outlets, the monthly E-Newsletter and copy for the social media pages. Through my connections at the shelter, I met the editor of Lowcountry Dog Magazine and began to write the Rescue Spotlight feature for this bi-monthly publication.

I would love a chance to channel my creativity once again, and write for your company. I look forward to speaking with you more about this opportunity.

Thank you,

Dear Mr. Harden,

You need a writer with great attention to detail and excellent skills. My education and training make me an ideal candidate for this position.

I have worked in the virtual community for over a year, but have taken most of my graduate classes online so I understand many online and computer applications, as well as meeting deadlines.
My previous experience working in member service for Costco, gave me the ability to learn new tasks quickly and excel at multi-tasking. My expertise in being self-motivated and following orders will make me a great addition to your team. My educational background is quite extensive and makes me a fast and serious writer.

To further acquaint you with the specifics of my background I am happy to talk to you personally on the phone or via email. I hope you will consider me for this position. I look forward to hearing from you and discussing my qualifications in more detail.

My name is Jessica Singler and I would love to show you what I can do! Although writing and editing is not on my current resume, I have always enjoyed writing and still keep a journal to this day. I have been helping an author lately by ghost writing with her on a current book and I have also done some copy editing for websites in the past. I am a creative person and I pay close attention to details. I really hope you will give me a chance to show you what I can do!
