My name is Ashley Alexander, and I am extremely interested in the part-time bookkeeper position that was posted on HireMyMom.com. I believe I am a perfect fit for this role because I posess the desired technical skills and experience and am enthusiastic about the work I do.
I graduated in 2014 with my Bachelor degree in International Business in French. Throughout my college career, I maintained full-time office positions, the majority of which were in accounts payable, bookkeeping, and accounting. In addition to my accounting experience, I took many accounting and finance courses throughout school. While I have experience in a multitude of positions and industries, I am passionate about accurate financial processing, account reconciliation, resolving vendor discrepancies, and ensuring that the accounting is done correctly and efficiently. I am also extremely passionate about developing the most efficient processes and creating procedural documentation that is useful across the company.
I have many years of experience with bookkeeping, accounts payable, and accounting positions, and have utilized multiple accounting software programs, with an emphasis on QuickBooks. At one point, I was doing AP for a company that had over 50 QuickBooks companies. I also managed the bookkeeping for SC Worldwide, and traveled to California to setup the new company’s QuickBooks and establish the inventory.
My most recent accounting position was as the Junior Staff Accountant for May Group International, a sign manufacturing company. I worked directly for the Controller, who was an accounting consultant and was in the process of turning the company around. In addition to reconciling the entire previous year of accounts, as well as the current year, I also assisted with miscellaneous accounting projects, such as correcting the way certain data imports were being coded, streamlining the reconciliation process, and correcting errors in the Fixed Assets. One of the most exciting parts of my position was that I wrote macros with VBA code to automate a lot of the reconciliation process, as well as an amazing macro to code, import, and reconcile the daily PayPal transactions.
I am an extremely driven person and employee, and am passionate and dedicated about all that I do. I am very technical and computer savvy, and I am always eager to learn. I am friendly and personable, self-motivated, and I work quickly and efficiently. I have high energy and am passionate about my work, and I love working with and for people. I am organized and detail-oriented, and have a perfectionist work-ethic when it comes to numbers and details. I enjoy and perform exceptionally well in accounting positions, and I believe that my experience and skills will lend wonderfully to both the position and your company.
