Runyon Cover Letter
Dear Mr. Runyon,
My name is Heather Lidwell, and I’m a South Floridian virtual professional with over 20 years’ experience in handling the ins and outs of scheduling, communication, and I excel at understand the nature of being the boss’s boss. An executive has a web of appointments, responsibilities, priorities, and has the huge task of roping it all in together with grace and professionalism. That’s probably why Spiderman is my favorite superhero. I’m afraid I am not really into movies, but my favorite of all time is The Untouchables with Kevin Costner and Robert DeNiro because sometimes you can get farther with a kind word and a gun than you can with just a kind word (kindness and authority are always important). And my favorite work-out activity is swimming, which I confess I don’t get to do nearly enough of. I probably burn more calories typing than I do swimming.
Now that I’ve answered your “extra work†questions, I’ll get to the point of your request. I can certainly put in the 10+ hours per week you want to invest in seeing whether I’m a good fit for you. I understand that being a personal assistant is a very private and meaningful role in the life and career of an executive, and that kind of trust takes baby steps to form.
I’m very good at communicating, reaching out, and being intuitive as to when to give space. I relish the art of helping direct at a high level, understanding the values behind prioritization, and helping clarify routine, schedule, and message. I have a wide variety of business background, have worked both for private corporations and the non-profit sector. I have a very genuine, friendly, but direct style that upholds the highest standards of professionalism.
I would love the chance to talk to you and see if we would be a good fit. I want exactly what you are offering – a chance to work with someone long-term and be an invaluable asset.
Thank you for taking the time to review my resume, and please do feel free to just give me a call or email to discuss further.
