Dear Steve Pili:

My name is Jaclyn Kivelin, and I am interested in working as Customer Service Representative for Relay Peak Research LLC. I have 2 years’ experience in the customer service industry at a coffee roaster in Washington State. I also have 5 years’ teaching experience, which I found to require many of the same skills when interacting with parents, students, and other teachers.

I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to work at Dillanos Coffee Roasters from 2011-2012. As a small company, the leadership and management were adamant about the importance of exceptional customer service, as well as internal business relations. The company’s motto was “Help people, make friends, have fun”. Customer service was instilled into workers at every level of the company, which I believe is a huge part of their continued success. Each employee was expected to think on his or her feet, and apply our overarching company policies to individual circumstances. Ultimately, each employee was responsible for keeping our customers happy! I found providing excellent customer service to be incredibly fulfilling.

As a teacher, the relationships I built with my students were as important as a business’ relationships with their clients and customers. Without an expectation of honesty, good service, and good will—students and their parents would not be open to learning and fervently working toward their success. In any aspect of life or business, good relationships are the building block of success.
