Recruiting Specialist

I am writing in response to your recent job posting, seeking applicants for a Recruiting Specialist. I have attached my resume for your review and hope that you will consider my credentials for the position.
As my resume indicates, I have a long history of working with various organizations in a human resources capacity, specifically in the area of recruitment. In my most recent position, I was the sole human resources professional for the U.S. offices of an engineering firm. I was responsible for conducting recruitment and onboarding activities, benefits administration, personnel record management, and creating company policies. Prior to this position, I acted as an HR consultant, advising clients on various personnel issues, recruiting employees, and assisting with web content. I have also been employed as the Assistant Personnel professional with Navy Federal Credit Union. In this position, I was responsible for all of the local human resources and recruiting initiatives. Prior to this, I was the Recruiting Manager for Associated Credit Union of Texas. I was responsible for the credit union’s staffing needs, including creating recruitment materials, interviewing potential candidates for entry-level and management positions, creating and posting job descriptions, and making offers of employment. In this role I trained managers and executives on human resource procedures, the hiring process, and pertinent employment laws and regulations. Additionally, I counseled employees and trained the staff regarding various laws and regulations. I also managed our HRIS database, processed payroll and benefits, developed the resume and applicant-tracking database, mediated employee issues, and assisted with new employee orientation. Prior to my career in Human Resources, I was an attorney, practicing in the areas of general litigation and employment law. This practice allowed me to bring a unique perspective to recruiting through my knowledge of various employment laws, creative tactics for interviewing candidates, mediation and negotiation skills, and the ability to analyze various employment issues.
Although I enjoyed my legal career, I believe that I found my niche in the human resources field. My previous experiences in human resources, the financial industry, and the legal field have allowed me to hone both my written and interpersonal communication skills, as well as develop problem solving techniques and an understanding of how recruiting and retaining the right talent can enhance an organization. I believe that I possess the professionalism, experience, and attention to detail that this position requires, and I hope that after reviewing my resume, we will have the opportunity to discuss the position in further detail.
