Dear Amy Comparetto:

I am writing in response to the Administrative/Virtual Assistant position open Prodigy Piano Instruction posted on the hiremymom.com website.

As you’ll see from my resume, I am proficient in a variety of office functions and programs. I also enjoy learning new software. I am experienced in handling general office duties having worked in the company management office of the Utah Shakespearean Festival for three years, therapy scheduling and billing offices for four years and higher education offices for two years.

What my resume does not reveal is my love for music and attention to detail. I have some experience on social media, blogging and website management. I’ve played the piano since I was eight, and even taught piano for a couple years, and believe that music is so important in kids’ lives! In me, you’ll discover a reliable, detail-oriented, and extremely hard-working associate that will be an asset to your company.

I look forward to hearing from you and working together.

Dear Amy Comparetto,

I saw your job posting for a Virtual Assistant on HireMyMom.com and I am very interested! My skill set and interests would be a fantastic fit for your company and needs.

I have spent the last four years working for Paula’s Choice Skincare as a Senior Client Services Consultant. My essential job functions were customer service-related (phone calls, emails, live chats, and Facebook messages/page interaction), but I also had many additional regular tasks which included managing projects, writing and editing content, proofing marketing materials including emails and catalogs, scheduling private consultations, collecting payments, and using Excel to collect and analyze data. I left my previous job a few weeks ago because I was spending far too much time commuting, so a position I could do from home would be ideal, and I appreciate your openness to working with a remote employee for a role such as this one. I can also provide outstanding references from my previous supervisor and coworkers upon request.

Also, I love music! While my piano skills specifically are rusty these days, I took lessons for over a decade in the past, and voice lessons for just as long. I enjoyed using both skills as an alto section leader in a cappella groups throughout both high school and college.

I’d love to discuss this position with you further. Please feel free to contact me via email or if desired via phone. Thank you for your consideration!
