Dear Mr. Pitts:
From my experience planning a 360° marketing campaign for the fashionable young customer to my role in coordinating Facebook events for music educators, I understand how integral an effective marketing strategy is to the success of a firm. It is this passion for multi-faceted marketing strategy that leads me to apply for this position.
With a background that spans classical piano performance to brand strategy, I like to create relationships and solutions, to tell compelling stories that create meaningful connections. My summer internship at Nordstrom allowed me to work with cross-functional teams throughout the corporation to develop and recommend an enterprise mobile initiative. In my advertising role at Clavier Companion magazine, I reignited former relationships and gathered new clients. I forecasted sales accurately and, when faced with a declining sales trend in print advertising, created new revenue streams through digital media and event marketing. For the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy, I developed social media engagement strategies to bring teachers together during the off-conference year, and with PianoSonoma, I worked with high-profile artists and seasoned professionals to create a luxury customer experience.
I like to challenge myself, to learn new skills and step outside of my comfort zone. Ambitious by nature, I led The Frances Clark Center through two successful website migrations by teaching myself both the Joomla and WordPress content management systems. I created and implemented email marketing campaigns, analyzing user link patterns to highlight content more effectively. Passionate about research, I scoured the customer experience research literature and interviewed retail experts to create a framework for an in-store message hierarchy system for Nordstrom Rack, and I designed and conducted end-to-end market research on customer preferences in collaboration with Kigo Kitchen.
From mapping the customer journey to enhancing digital engagement to analyzing the omnichannel customer, I love marketing, and I would embrace the opportunity to speak with you further about how I might be of assistance as you grow your business.
