Dear Ms. Power,
I am contacting you to apply for the position of Virtual Assistant.
Throughout my career, I have demonstrated proficiency in all core office administration functions, including document preparation, data and records management, scheduling, and purchasing. In short, I can manage the office without supervision, juggle multiple tasks effectively, and maintain confidentiality with highly sensitive materials and matters. For example, during my time as an Executive Assistant I was tasked with taking over all of the office’s scheduling, database maintenance and correspondence. My efforts allowed the CEO to have ten extra hours a week for additional projects.
I also stay organized and know how to prioritize. I have scheduled 2-3 seminars per month throughout the world. In order to do this effectively, I created a master database of tasks that needed to be accomplished, with automated dating to mark deadlines. My comfort level for learning new software is also high. In one position, I was supporting the managers of five different departments and had to learn the software each area used within a matter of weeks.
My resume is attached and I am happy to provide references. The last two positions I held were virtual as the majority of employees I supported lived and worked throughout the United States. I took some time off with the birth of my son in 2014 and when I decided to rejoin the workforce, contracting as a virtual assistant was a natural fit. I also currently work very part time at a libary so am familiar with the book industry.
I want to thank you for the time and attention you took to read this letter. And, I want to emphasize how excited I am to use my skills to contribute to Stafford House Books. I look forward to hearing from you.
