LA & Associates – Hire My Mom

LA & Associates

Dear Laurie-Ann,

I am writing to request consideration for the writing and editing position listed on HireMyMom.com.

With more than 17 years of experience in writing, editing, and marketing, I have implemented successful communications plans; created and developed print and digital recruitment/sales collateral with consistent messaging and branding; and managed hundreds of print and digital projects annually.

As an editor, I strive to “polish” pieces so that their meaning is enhanced while still allowing the writer’s voice—yours—to shine through. I believe that my unique combination of technical expertise, creative abilities, and experience both writing and editing makes me an ideal person for this position and would welcome the chance to use my skills to help strengthen the brand position and marketability of LA & Associates. I believe my accomplishments, which are described in detail on my resume and LinkedIn profile (linkedin.com/in/rebekah-herbison-2a5a3a64), reflect my ability.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to speaking with you about this employment opportunity.

Best Regards,

Rebekah Herbison

LA & Associates

Dear Ms. Murabito,

It is with great enthusiasm that I submit my resume for the position of Writer/Editor for LA & Associates, as I think my skill set would be a great fit for communicating your mission of “guiding leadership”. I worked at Apple for 7 years in the Retail and Development department so understand the importance of effective leadership and setting high expectations for success while remaining open, flexible, and supportive. At Apple, I played an integral role in establishing vendor relationships and sourcing strategies, was the main communication/marketing contact for internal departments and outside inquiries, and developed the personnel structure for our department as it grew. The opportunity to be a part of the department from the beginning (prior to opening any retail stores) allowed me to do everything from hiring and managing project coordinators to creating presentations for the executive team. These varied experiences led me to building a reputation for finding solutions, communicating expectations, and motivating others to believe in their abilities to achieve those expectations.

Since leaving Apple, I’ve written articles for The Language Educator and have begun working on a master’s degree in mental health counseling, which has enhanced my writing, research, and editing skills. I love being part of a team while at the same time I’m very self-directed, enjoy working independently, and pride myself on meeting deadlines.

As you’ll see from the attached resume, I’m capable of doing any type of administrative work necessary, but I’m most excited about the opportunity to help you express your thoughts and ideas effectively while maintaining your unique voice and style. My combination of relationship and listening skills, knowledge of corporate culture, ability to communicate effectively, attention to detail, and willingness to learn would be a great fit for your editing and proofreading needs.

Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Kind regards,
Kristen Stipe
