Kerry Fraatz Cover Letter
Dear Mr. De Fontaine,
I am a former higher education professional with a M.A.degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs and over five years of experience working with college students as an Academic Advisor and Program Coordinator. Due to my husband’s career as a member of the U.S. Department of State’s Foreign Service, we have been living abroad since 2011. At present time we reside in Geneva, Switzerland. While this experience is extremely enriching in many ways, it certainly presents challenges as the “trailing spouse†who would like to maintain a career. For this reason, I am seeking virtual employment opportunities which would provide future transportability as we continue our worldwide journey.
I believe I am a competitive candidate for your independent contractor position for the following reasons:
– Higher Education is my passion and is the field I would be working in if my family had not decided to pursue overseas living. During my time working at universities, as well as more recent experience with the U.S. Government, I have prided myself on my commitment to providing consistent quality customer service. Financing of higher education is certainly one of the biggest hurdles for many families, and I would take great pride in working with an organization that aids future students in exploring their options.
– I am an avid user of Google products for both professional and personal use, and am well versed in use of Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Sites.
– I have experience creating biweekly newsletters for our U.S. Government community (colleagues and their family members) and recently converted this newsletter to an online format using Google Sites which I maintain and update.
I welcome any chance to discuss this opportunity and my qualifications with you further. I can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org or 765-761-2180.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
