Jamila Trimuel Cover Letter

To Cathryn Lavery:

It is my pleasure to submit my resume and cover letter for the Project Manager position with Best Self Co. I am a skilled Project Manager with over ten years of experience in the healthcare and education industries. My enthusiastic and positive personality combined with a strong work ethic would be a great fit at Best Self Co. As a fellow entrepreneur, I understand that organizations need someone who is comfortable with ambiguity and working in a fast-paced environment. I am certain that I can exceed your expectations as a Project Manager.

My experience and achievements include:

• Managed planning-to-opening process of two new schools in the North Chicago and Waukegan communities
• Engaged local stakeholders in meaningful relationships that yielded community support for LEARN’s expansion; served as primary liaison with community stakeholders including non-profits, businesses, elected officials and the IL State Chart Commission
• Led a multi-disciplinary team of eight to develop a Radiosurgery Institute program plan which was approved
for funding by senior leadership; Led on-site reviews of current operations, documented gaps, and developed an action plan to resolve potential problems
• Appointed Project Manager of the newly formed Oncology planning committee to develop a system-wide approach to cancer care under the direction of NM leadership
• Managed concept-to-approval phase of Northwestern’s new Molecular Diagnostics program by researching best practices, interviewing key stakeholders, identified programmatic requests and developed a financial pro forma which was approved by senior leadership
• Developed and led current state, competitive, growth and profitability analysis for a 5-year Orthopedics strategic plan

I am not only organized and resourceful but I truly believe in the mission of Best Self – to create meaningful products that help people become their best self. I resonated with this mission because I have dedicated my life to helping others. As a college student, I served as a Domestic Violence Advocate and Crisis Line volunteer. In grad school, I became a Schweitzer Fellow which provided me with an opportunity to start a mentoring program at the YMCA. Now, I am the Founder of Ladies of Virtue where we have encouraged over 1,000 girls to be the best that they can be in every aspect of their lives.

Thank you for reviewing my application. I welcome the opportunity to speak with you personally to explore ways in which I can make a substantial contribution to your project management initiatives. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach me via phone or email.
