I’m a marketing manager with 15+ years of experience in both traditional and web advertising, promotions, events, and campaigns. While I enjoy all aspects of my job, my favorite stage of a project is brainstorming messaging and finalizing objectives because this is where I get to become a creative-thinker and allow ideas to flow! Co-workers know me as a highly creative and strategic marketer who can always be trusted to come up with a new approach.

I currently left full-time work to stay home with our toddler (in October of 2017). My most current position was with a Kansas City non-profit, The Family Conservancy, as the Marketing Events Manager. In this role, my main function is to ensure our events are a success which means meeting sponsorship goals. I work very hard on building strong relationships with our 30 board members and their companies as well as researching new corporate sponsorship opportunities. Last year, in a weakening economy I was able to surpass our corporate sponsorship goal by 19%, making it one of our highest grossing events to date. I worked two days a week from home in this role so there will be no time wasted on how to be successful working remotely.

The marketing communications aspect of my job includes the planning and executing of our strategic marketing and social media plans. This role enables me to work with vendors (designers and print) to create all printed materials for our events (save-the date, invite, etc).

Before working in non-profit, my experience has been on the corporate side of marketing communications. My background in marketing has allowed me to gain strong strategic planning skills in multiple areas. I also volunteer within my community with other non-profits which has opened my eyes to the value of communication between the board, volunteers and the agency. This coupled with my ability to multi-task and work with a variety of individuals would make me a great fit for your company.
