Dear Ms. Bixel,

In response to your posting for a Social Media and Marketing Assistant, I would like to extend my application for the position. As you will note, I have earned my bachelor’s degree in journalism, am presently pursing a graduate certificate in social media and online communities and have worked in a variety of industries. My education and experiences have prepared me very well to take on this role with Detox Kitchen and Juice Bar.

As a Copywriter and Marketing Assistant at Toysmith, I was charged with writing brand copy for marketing and advertising purposes. In addition, I assisted in developing content for the company’s newly designed website. While wearing many different hats in this position, I was the sole individual responsible for constructing packaging, instruction manual and catalog copy, proofing minute product details and writing social media posts and press releases.

In a very different role as a Program Planning and Scheduling Analyst at Northrop Grumman, I am responsible for updating and maintaining multiple schedules to account for major program goals. While tracking activities and milestones across a multitude of disciplines, I am responsible for collecting project status from people at a variety of professional levels within the program.

In earning my undergrad in journalism at Gonzaga University, I have been equipped with excellent communication skills, a keen attention to detail, as well as the ability to work under pressure on multiple assignments to meet strict deadlines. My present studies have enabled me to implement a successful marketing strategy for an entertainment brand. While my reputable organization skills contribute to my productivity, I have also been trained to excel in a very high stress environment.

As a staff writer and editor for the Gonzaga Bulletin, I was often assigned stories at the last minute with a very short deadline. While I also had numerous commitments to my academics, I always prioritized successfully in order to complete my tasks. My impeccable problem solving and research skills have led me to be highly successful in my many endeavors.
