Hello! My name is Kate Shore, and I am writing in regards to the Administrative Assistant position you posted on HireMyMom.com. I just submitted my resume through the website, but wanted to to let you know a little more about me and my experience. I think that my strong organization skills and my ability to stay focused and work independently make me a great fit for your team.

My background is truly a mix of creative and logical work experiences. I have a BFA in Theatre Design and Production, and have spent several years working as a scenic artist, painting scenery and props for theatres and theme parks. However, I am also extremely organized, and I truly enjoy doing paperwork, data entry, and creating color-coded Excel sheets. This unique mix of right and left-brained thinking has allowed me to thrive in a variety of work environments and to communicate well with different types of people. In my last full-time job, I worked as a Coordinator at Universal Creative here in Orlando, Florida, as part of the project team that created Universal’s new water park, Volcano Bay. As a member of the creative team, I was responsible for a variety of administrative tasks for the project’s designers and art directors, including (just to name a few) scheduling meetings, sending out meeting notes and to-do lists, writing RFP’s, and acting as the main liaison between Universal’s designers and our fabrication vendors.

A bit more about me:
• I have common sense, and I pick up on things quickly.
• I enjoy following the rules and adhering to procedures, but can also go with the flow and am constantly looking for more efficient ways to complete tasks.
• I don’t enjoy being bored, and am happy to jump in and help with whatever tasks need to get done.
• I grew up in Charlotte, NC and now live just outside of Orlando, Florida.
• I am interested in a part-time position with somewhat flexible hours.

Dear Prospective Employer,

I’m very interested in the data entry position you posted on Hire My Mom. I’m a part-time nurse looking to branch out into the online job world. In my job, we are required to do many projects on top of patient care so I’m very proficient in using Microsoft Office. I type 60 WPM and actually enjoy the tediousness of data entry. I’ve also done a few research projects for my unit so I’m skilled in that as well. English is my native language and although I don’t have any professional experience proofreading, I find myself proofreading books and articles when I’m reading for fun. I’m highly attentive to detail and have a solid grasp on APA style writing.

Hi, Caroline. I’m extremely interested in the data entry opportunity with BareFood Angel. I’m not a typist per se, but have 31+ years as a writer and editor, and in years past (before everyone had personal computers of their own) spent several years typing book manuscripts as a second job. I would have the advantage of being able to offer proofreading of your material as well as data entry, if you were interested in my performing that function as I entered the information.
