Customer Service Specialist with Interest in Fermentation

Dear Gavin,

My name is Astrid, and I have been an “occasional-fermenter” for the last 10 years. I have 2 ceramic fermentation crocks and I usually make a batch of Kimchi and a batch of Sauerkraut at the end of each summer. I own, and often refer to, the book “Wild Fermentation”, by Sandor Katz.

I have extensive customer service experience, as a result of running my own online natural skin care business for the last 8 years. My customer service standards are extremely high. I recently took a customer service test on the Flexjobs website and scored in the top 10% of all participants. Customer service seems to come naturally to me, as I am a strong empathizer, and can easily put myself into the customer’s mindset, allowing me to assist them better.

I also enjoy writing, blogging, creating social posts and newsletters. When I am not working, I am with my family, making art and training on my bike.

I am interested in this position, as it is well-aligned with my values (I adore natural health, organic food and “food-as-medicine” ). I am looking for flexible work that makes a positive contribution to the world, and allows some potential for personal and professional growth.
