Cover Letter – Rachel Carlton
To Whom It May Concern,
I am a mom of many talents! I have had the unique opportunity to be a business owner/partner as well as a veteran in the healthcare industry. I have a lot of varied talents to offer any employer and look forward to putting those to use for your business!
As a business owner, I am partner in a small specialty boutique where I keep the books, do ordering and inventory management, and manage all social media and marketing endeavors. I am familiar and comfortable on many platforms and am an experienced computer user. I find myself assisting those around me regularly with the computer, whether it be navigating their way around the software options, or attempting new things in the online environment. If I don’t know how to do it, give me an hour or so, and I will know most everything there is to know!
I am a veteran nurse and nurse practitioner with over a decade of experience with patient care in the clinical setting. I have managed schedules, and coordinated patient care with smooth sailing in very busy and pressured practice environments.
I also have extensive experience as an educator both in the classroom, where I have taught over 100 students in a single class, to the intimate environment of online learning, where I have met the challenge of teaching adult learners, some who haven’t had any experience with computers and haven’t been in the classroom in over 20 years.
I have met many challenges in my healthcare career, where communication is key and required to keep things moving smoothly. I am capable of learning quickly and meeting challenges head on with a stable presence.
It is time in my career, and in the life cycle of my family to stop working 80 hours a week in the clinical setting and be at home. I am looking for work at home to keep me busy, engaged in work, and challenged. I am looking forward to new adventures, learning new things, and being challenged in new settings and environments in the virtual world.
When I am not working, you can usually find me with my nose in a book. I also enjoy writing and editing. I maintain a blog on WordPress and have been updating it for the last 7 years. My blog followers often tell me how much they love reading my posts, as they feel like they are “living it with me”.
If you feel my background and experience could be of benefit to your employment openings, whether it be temporary, part-time, full-time or permanent, I hope you will reach out to have a conversation so we can discuss how I might be able to meet your needs.
I sincerely look forward to changing gears and experiencing new things!
