To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing to apply for your executive administrative assistant position. While I have been in public service for several years, I am ready to make the transition to the private community and expand my experiences. I have previously worked with Goodwill Industries with welfare recipients to maintain their benefits, increase their income, and provide referrals. After that time, I owned my own retail business for several years with a store front. All of the daily operations as well as accounting/bookkeeping, inventory and ordering, and staff management were my responsibility. Currently, I work as a program supervisor for a homeless veterans program. I directly oversee 8 staff members and fill in for other supervisors in their absence. Other aspects of my current employment include supervision with team members, quality assurance, data management, and balancing our $2.65 million/year budget. I am also entrusted with the duty of creating training for our staff in areas such as ethics, HIPAA, programmatic, cultural competency, and mental health disorders. I am involved in other community projects including County CES Veteran Committee and HOPE. For the past year, I have also worked remotely with a furniture removal company helping with estimates, customer service, and market research.
I obtained a MS in Psychology in 2013 from Nova Southeastern University. Currently, I am working towards a Psy.D. from California Southern University. My expected graduation date is August 2019.
Please see my resume for additional information on my experience. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to having the opportunity to meet with you.
