Dear Cathryn,
Earlier this year, I left my full-time career as a database manager to pursue a more flexible, work from home role, to better suit my family and personal needs. While I’ve managed a variety of ad hoc projects and freelance work these past few months, I find I’m interested in looking for something a little more challenging and ongoing.

While my previous job titles might not sound like an exact fit, I’ve always considered my primary role to be a project manager and I believe my skills and experience would be a great fit for the position described here. As a prior content manager, I have experience in scheduling, budgeting, and vendor management, as well as cross functional work across many departments. I am also an efficient self-starter who is comfortable working remotely.

As you’ll see in my resume, I have a diverse educational background and thrive on variety and challenge in my work life. I’m proactive and like to get things done, but more importantly, I like to make people happy and I have a knack for putting my communication and psychology education to good use to do just that. After looking over the Best Self website, I find I’m very interested and excited in what the company has to offer and feel like my personal and professional values would be a great fit.
