Ashlie Woods Cover Letter
April 18, 2018
Dear Ashlie Woods:
My name is Jaclyn Kivelin, and I believe I would be an excellent fit for your Virtual Assistant position. I currently stay at home with my daughter, so my schedule is very flexible, and I would be able to dedicate the time and passion necessary to help Wildhearted Retreats thrive.
I find your business (passion, rather) to be incredibly unique and inspiring. As a military child, and now military spouse, I have moved a number of times in my life, and it has required me to learn how to constantly re-center myself.
Becoming a mother has been my most recent joy and challenge, and is allowing me—once again—the opportunity to define “me†in terms of my new life and surroundings.
Stemming from my psychology background, helping myself and others understand life and find joy in it, has always been important to me. I used this passion when teaching high school, a particularly unique time of life-growth for adolescents. As a teacher, it was paramount to students’ success to FIRST help them find their self worth, THEN tackle any academic issues. I am a whole-self teacher and parent, believing that emotional stability and health are important to overall success.
I have some business experience, working at a local coffee roaster in Washington State for 2 years. This was a small, privately owned business; customer service and personal interactions were at the heart of their success. The company motto was, “Help people, make friends, have funâ€. The management team allowed me many opportunities for growth beyond clerical reception duties and retail sales. I was able to help with the launching and running of an online sales platform, edit company publications, offer customer service insights at company meetings, and much more.
As a military spouse, I have used my creative talents to produce personalized battalion gifts for spouses, events, and fundraisers. I often helped to create flyers, and various design projects. Although I consider myself a design novice, I do have an eye for design and the capacity to learn much more as the need arises. It is something I enjoy, and often do on the side for friends or personal projects.
I am a hard worker, very efficient, and genuinely desire to help people. I would love to speak with you more about my experiences and your needs, and discuss whether I would be a good fit for your business. If you have any further questions or inquiries, please feel free to contact me via phone or email at your convenience.
