Dear Jason Wuerch,

I am writing to express my interest in the article and blog writer position you have posted on hiremymom.com. While I have a degree in writing and manage a personal blog, my recent work has been in administrative, marketing, and business development.

This position interests me because I enjoy writing and while I do have a blog, I need to be more consistent about posting. Currently I “work” as a stay-at-home mom. My daughter turned one two months ago and now that we’re finally in a consistent routine, I feel confident enough to get back into working in a position that allows some flexibility.

I haven’t written very many articles recently. I’ve played around with different blogs over the years and did write for a newspaper while an undergrad. Before deciding to stay home with my daughter, I worked as an Administrative and Business Development Coordinator at a high profile law firm. I was tasked with maintaining newsletters, assisting with events, editing pitches and proposals, designing brochures and booklets, contacting clients, and tracking practice group expenditures. I also was in charge of a lot of design work for internal events. I created posters, invitations, flyers and other graphic materials that occasionally required some handwritten details. A lot of my work was done using Microsoft Word, Publisher and PowerPoint.

I am a fast learner with a strong work ethic and I am willing to put in the time to get more familiar with the types of articles you need written. I also consider myself a highly creative person. My schedule currently allows me about 3 hours of free time during the day, so I plan on working mostly in the evenings and on the weekends if allowed.

Please find my resume attached and I look forward to getting a chance to speak with you. You can check out my blog at heyadrienne.wordpress.com

Sincerely,
Adrienne Romer-Jordan
