I am writing this letter to express my interest in the freelance job of Book Layout Designer, as advertised on HireMyMom.com.
During my various work as an employee, a freelance designer, and as a business owner and author, I have designed many different books, including designing the covers, as well as the interior pages. I believe the skills and experience I have gained make me an ideal candidate to re-design the interior of your daily meditation book, “Finding the Gift.”
I was intrigued by your “10 Secrets to Finding the Gift” ebook, so I have now begun reading “Finding the Gift” on Kindle. You definitely have a way with words and a unique perspective on the world.
I too am passionate about the topic of gratitude, living in the present, and intentionally looking for joy every day. I believe this is a message that so many people need to hear today, and I would love to help you present it in a beautiful book that is easy on the eyes.
I have several ideas on how to make your book stylish, inviting and professional. I love creating beautiful, inspiring, uplifting things. You can view some of my creations in my portfolio at: http://joditt.com/design-services (My book portfolio is towards the bottom of the page.)
As you will see from my resume, I am well aware that books are a completely different animal than magazines or other print layouts, and require a different skill set than your basic graphic design skills. Some of my experiences that have helped me to acquire those skills include:
• Creative Memories Scrapbooking Consultant And Workshop Instructor
• Lubbock Christian University Yearbook Committee Member
• Graphic Artist at Midtown Printing, (a commercial print shop in Lubbock, TX)
• Freelance Designer
• Employee at Erath AgriLife Extension Service (a government agency in Stephenville, TX)
• Author and Publisher of my own book (Available on Amazon. Details at http://joditt.com/shop)
Furthermore, I have several ideas for other projects that I believe your audience would love, like a meditation journal/coloring book. I welcome the opportunity to discuss with you personally how my skills and strengths can best serve you and your company.
I appreciate your time and consideration.
