Administrative and Compliance Assistant
I saw your advertisement for the Virtual Assistant position and although I am not based in San Francisco or Denver (Florida is where I call home), I am very interested in applying for the position. I have a BA with Psychology and Sociology as the majors and over 20 years administrative experience ranging from reception to Senior Level Executives, including having assisting with Board Meetings and event planning. Attention to detail, calendar management and all the fun administrative tasks related to those positions have ensured an advanced knowledge of Microsoft
I have had the privilege of living and volunteering for a couple of organizations on four different continents. I have obviously enjoyed the challenge and fun of getting to know people from different backgrounds with widely different viewpoints. Getting everyone to appreciate the differences and strengths has led to strong teams that have worked well together. Misunderstanding or intense debate can be turned around to have a positive experience.
A sense of humor is a must in life, is there any other way to deal with the curve balls live dishes out? I love the flexibility that my home office allows and having worked remotely at various stages of my career I am no stranger to working independently whilst meeting deadlines and getting things done.
Upon taking at look at your website I was delighted to see your article on Myanmar, as I spent six weeks there in 2006 working with various organization training in and assisting with their administrative functions.
Having been born and raised in South Africa, I am acutely aware of the need for organizations that are willing to assist and provide opportunities for communities and individuals that enormous potential and ideas but not always the finances available to make it happen
